Cocoa Butter, Organic | Ultra Refined - Deodorized

This refined butter is obtained from the fruit of the Cocoa tree. From its beans, the butter is extracted and further processed and refined to obtain a white, scent-free butter. Cocoa Butter is of significant commercial importance in foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetic applications. Solid and hard at room temperature, it will melt on contact with the skin.

Note: Cocoa Organic Butter is not sold in chunks as shown in the picture. It is in solid form in the jar and we would recommend placing the jar in a hot water bath, which would soften the butter, and make it easier to extract it from the jar.

Recommended Usage: 

 Lotions & Creams: 2 - 20 % 
 Balms: 5 – 100 % 
 Bar Soaps: 5 - 20 % 
 Hair Conditioners: 1 – 10 %

When adding butter to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm them until the texture is soft enough to be incorporated into the final product. Using a hand blender, create a vortex with your cream or lotion and drizzle your melted butter to fully incorporate. For addition in soaps, the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per pound. As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.

Caution: Overheating this product will impact its delicate fragrance. Please melt at as low a heat as possible while stirring gently, and use as soon as it is melted.

Shelf Life: Slow to go rancid, when the oil is kept closed at a temperature below 18°C and kept away from light, the shelf life will be up to 24 months from the date of manufacture. Refrigeration is recommended.
